Terms of service

These terms are a contract between you and Flowtify ("we", "us"), of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, covering your use of rankbid.ca ("RankBid"). By using the site or paying for a listing you agree to them. They are written in plain English on purpose. If a court finds any part unenforceable, the rest still applies.

1. The service

RankBid is a public leaderboard of businesses competing in the Canadian market, most of them Canadian and the rest marked as global. Listings are ranked by the all-time total paid for them, highest first. A payment buys an addition to a listing's total, which determines its position on the boards at that moment. A payment does not buy a fixed position, a fixed duration, a backlink, or any promise of traffic, customers or business results. Positions change whenever someone else pays. We may change how boards are organized, add or merge categories and cities, and change the design of the site at any time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority in your province or territory, and able to enter a binding contract. You may list a business, product, service, app, store or organization that has a real Canadian connection: headquartered, registered, founded or primarily operating in Canada. You may pay for a listing you do not own. You may not edit a listing you do not own, except as the verified owner rules in section 6 allow.

3. Listings and content

You are responsible for what you submit: the URL, name, tagline, description, logo, category, location and contact email. You confirm that it is accurate, that you have the right to use it, and that the business is Canadian as described above. There is one listing per URL, and the URL cannot be changed after the listing is created. We may edit, hide or remove any listing at any time, with or without notice, for breaking these terms or the rules at rankbid.ca/rules, or for any other reason we consider necessary to run the site properly.

Unclaimed listings are created by us from publicly available business information. Any business may ask for its unclaimed listing to be removed through rankbid.ca/contact, and we will remove it within two business days.

4. Payments and no refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe in Canadian dollars. The minimum to list is $10 CAD, the minimum top-up is $5 CAD, amounts are whole dollars only, and the maximum single payment is $50,000 CAD. Prices are shown before tax. GST or HST is added at checkout where we are required to collect it.

All payments are final and non-refundable. This includes when a listing is outbid, when it is removed for breaking the rules or these terms, when you entered an amount you did not intend, and when you change your mind. This is disclosed on the submission form, on the checkout page and here. If you dispute a charge with your card issuer, we treat it as a removed payment: the amount is deducted from the listing's total and the listing is hidden until the dispute is resolved. If the dispute is decided in our favour, the listing is restored.

5. Ranking

Listings are ordered by all-time total paid, highest first. Ties go to the listing that reached the total first. To take #1 on a board a listing must exceed the current #1 by at least $5; to take any other spot, by at least $1. Positions can change while you are checking out, and your payment still counts toward your total in full. We may change the rules, minimums and increments from time to time and will post changes on the rules page. Changes apply to payments made after they are posted, not before.

6. Editing and removal

The person who paid for a listing receives a private manage link by email. It is the only credential for that listing. Keep it private; you are responsible for anything done with it. If the email address you paid with is on the same domain as the listed website, edits apply immediately and the listing carries a "Verified owner" badge. Otherwise, edits to the name, tagline and description are held for our approval before they appear, and we may decline them. We may remove a listing that breaks the rules without notice and without refund.

7. Prohibited content

You may not list adult content, gambling or betting, cannabis, tobacco or vaping products, weapons, payday loans, multi-level marketing, anything illegal in Canada, chat or invite links, link shorteners, affiliate or tracking links, or pages that impersonate another business. You may not submit false information, use bots or scripts to submit listings or inflate click counts, attempt to access another person's manage link, or interfere with the operation of the site. We decide what falls under these categories, and our decision is final.

8. Intellectual property

You keep the rights to what you submit. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and adapt it (for example, resizing a logo or trimming a description) on RankBid and in RankBid's own marketing, including social posts and monthly stats reports, for as long as the listing exists and for a reasonable time after. RankBid's name, design, code and content belong to Flowtify. Third-party names and logos on the site belong to their owners and appear for identification only. You may not scrape, copy or republish the boards in bulk without our written permission. Quoting a rank or a stat with a link back is fine and encouraged.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

RankBid is provided as is and as available. We do not promise that the site will be available at all times, that any listing will hold a position for any length of time, or that a listing will produce clicks, customers or revenue. Listing content comes from submitters and from public sources and may be inaccurate; we do not endorse any listed business. To the fullest extent the law allows, Flowtify is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost business, arising from RankBid. Our total liability to you for anything connected to RankBid is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some provinces do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be heard by the courts of Alberta, sitting in Calgary, and you agree to that jurisdiction.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the bottom of this page tells you when we last did. If a change is material we will say so on the site, and continued use after that is acceptance. Changes do not affect the no-refund status of payments already made.
