The rules
These are the rules RankBid runs on. They are enforced in code, and the numbers here are the same ones the calculator uses. Plain language, no small print.
How ranking works
Listings are ordered by the total they have paid, all time, highest first. Ranks are calculated live from those totals; nothing is stored as a rank. If two listings have the same total, the one that reached it first ranks higher. Nothing else affects the order. Not clicks, not age, not how much we like you.
Boards
The home page is the national all-time board. Every category, every province, every city, and every category within a city has its own board, built from the same totals. Your rank on a board is your position among the listings on that board. There is no "today" board and no reset. Totals never expire.
Minimums and maximums
$10 CAD minimum to list. $5 CAD minimum to top up an existing listing. Whole dollars only. $50,000 CAD maximum in a single payment.
Taking a spot
To take #1 on a board, your total must exceed the current #1 by at least $5. To take any other spot, your total must exceed the holder by at least $1. The calculator does this math for you and shows the exact amount before checkout.
Top-ups
If you enter a URL that is already listed, you get the top-up flow for that listing instead of a duplicate. Only the difference is charged. Anyone can top up any listing, including one they do not own. Paying to promote a business you do not own is allowed. Editing it is not.
One listing per URL
The URL is the listing's identity. We strip the scheme, "www.", trailing slashes, query strings and fragments before comparing, so example.ca, www.example.ca and https://example.ca/?ref=x are all the same listing. A listing's URL cannot be changed after it is created. If your business moves to a new domain, list the new one.
What you can list
A business, product, service, app, store or organization. Pick Canada on the form for one with a real Canadian connection: headquartered, registered, founded or primarily operating in Canada. Province and city are then required, and Canadian status is self-declared. Flowtify may remove a listing declared Canadian that clearly is not, with no refund.
A business from outside Canada picks Global instead. It sits on the same board, ranked by the same rule, appears in its category, and is marked "Global business" with no city or country shown. It does not appear on any province or city board and carries no Canadian badge.
What you cannot list
Adult content. Gambling and betting. Cannabis, tobacco and vaping products (Canadian advertising restrictions apply). Weapons. Payday loans. Multi-level marketing. Anything illegal in Canada.
Also not allowed: chat and invite links (Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack), link shorteners, affiliate or tracking links, and pages that impersonate another business. Query strings are stripped automatically, so tracking parameters simply do not work here.
Going live and review
A listing goes live the moment Stripe confirms payment. You choose the category from a fixed list; we prefill a suggestion. Flowtify reviews listings after they are published and can edit, hide or remove any listing that breaks these rules.
Refunds and chargebacks
Payments are not refundable. That includes when a listing is removed for breaking the rules, when a listing is outbid, and when you change your mind. This is stated on the submission form, at checkout and in the terms. A chargeback is treated as a removed payment: the amount is deducted from the listing's total and the listing is hidden until the dispute is resolved.
Links
Outbound links to listed websites go through a tracked redirect (/go/your-slug) and
carry rel="sponsored nofollow", because they are paid placements. RankBid sells
visibility and traffic, not backlinks.
Editing
The person who paid gets a private manage link by email. With it they can edit the name, tagline, description, logo, category, city and contact email. If the payer's email domain matches the listing's domain, the listing gets a "Verified owner" badge and edits apply immediately. Otherwise, edits to the name, tagline and description wait for admin approval, so that a stranger cannot deface a business they paid to promote.
Unclaimed listings
Some listings were added by Flowtify from public information so the boards were useful from day one. They show a $0 total, an "Unclaimed" label and a "Claim this listing from $10" button. The first payment claims the listing and the payer becomes its manager, subject to the verified owner rule above. Any business can ask to have its unclaimed listing removed through the contact page, and it will be removed within two business days.
Boards that are too small to index
A board with fewer than 3 listings is asked not to be indexed by search engines yet. Once 3 businesses are listed on it, the page goes into Google like every other board.
The last word
Flowtify's decisions on rules are final and payments are not refundable.
More detail on the flow is on the how it works page, and the legal versions are in the terms and the refund policy.
