About RankBid
RankBid is Canada's pay-to-rank leaderboard. It's a public list of businesses, ranked by how much each has paid, all time, highest first. Anyone can list a business for $10 CAD. Paying more moves you up. Payments never expire and are never refunded. There are no accounts, no ads and no subscriptions.
Who is behind it
RankBid is built and run by Flowtify, a Canadian SaaS suite for agencies and freelancers, based in Calgary, Alberta. RankBid is Flowtify's public leaderboard project. It exists because our own customers kept asking how to promote a business in Canada without buying ads, and we didn't have a good answer. Now we have a $10 one.
Why Canada only
Because a global board is nobody's board. Nobody who needs a plumber searches for "top companies in the world". They search for "best plumbers in Halifax", and on RankBid every category and city combination is its own board with its own #1. So the top spot for home services in Red Deer costs about $10, and the top spot in Canada costs whatever the last ambitious founder decided it was worth. It's a business directory for the Canadian market, in Canadian dollars, run by a Canadian company on servers in Toronto, which matters more than it used to.
Why we built it
Every town in this country has a business that deserves to be found and isn't. The contractor whose work everyone praises and nobody can locate online. The shop that has been on the same corner since 1994 and still loses the search to a franchise two provinces away, because the franchise bought the ad.
That has never sat right with us. We are a small Canadian company ourselves, and we know exactly what it costs to be invisible.
So we wrote the plainest rules we could. $10 puts a business on the board. The order is the order of the money, printed where anyone can check it. No algorithm deciding who deserves to be seen, no ad platform taking a cut of every click, no monthly bill that quietly renews. A roofer in Red Deer and a software company in Toronto pay by the same rule.
We are not going to dress this up as charity. Businesses pay to sit higher, and that is the whole model. But it is a price a real business can afford, it is paid once, and it says out loud what it is. Most of what gets sold as online visibility in this country does not.
In Martin's words
"I wanted a place where a plumber in Red Deer can be #1 for ten bucks and mean it. Everything else on the site exists to make that one thing work."
